Consistent quality, returning customer

This was my third order from Coral Aquarium, mostly for SPS frags and some reef supplements. I got a Montipora Digitata frag this time, and like my previous orders, it arrived in great condition, color was good. They consistently pack the live animals really well, I've never had a DOA. I did notice the shipping cost for a smaller order felt a little high compared to some other places, but the quality of their corals keeps me coming back. It's reliable for getting healthy coral, which is what matters most to me.

My first saltwater fish

So I finally got a marine fish, a little clownfish, from here. It arrived super well packed, like, really secure. It's swimming around great in my tank now. The only thing was the tracking info updated a bit slow, but it got to me safely so no big deal.

Nice frag, good packing

I got a bouture de corail (LPS) a few weeks ago and it's doing great. The packaging was really solid, kept it nice and warm on its trip to my place. Shipping took 3 days, which was fine. Just wish there were more pictures of the actual frags sometimes.

Decent equipment, good customer service

I bought a Skimmer Deltec 1000i and some Red Sea Foundation B supplements a few weeks ago. The ordering process on their website was straightforward enough. The skimmer arrived well-packaged and was easy to set up. I had a question about the skimmer's water level setting, so I used their contact form. Customer service responded within 24 hours, which was pretty good. They gave clear instructions that helped me get it dialed in. The supplements were also fine, no issues there. My only minor complaint is that the product description for the skimmer could have included a bit more detail about initial break-in period expectations, but overall, a solid experience.

Decent equipment, slow delivery

I ordered an Aquaillumination Prime 16HD light and some test kits. The light itself is great quality, no complaints there. Everything arrived well-packed. However, delivery took about a week and a half, which felt a bit long compared to other stores I've used. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the delay, which was a plus. The pricing was competitive, but that wait time could definitely be improved.

Good frag, long shipping time

I ordered a Green Hairy Mushroom frag and some Red Sea salt mix. The frag arrived looking healthy, which was good. The salt mix was fine. Shipping took about 6 days, a bit longer than I expected for a live order, but everything was packed well in an insulated box.

Good frag deal

I was looking for some new soft coral frags and saw their 'promo coraux' happening. Got a nice Zoanthid frag for a decent price. Shipping wasn't free, but the discount on the coral itself made up for it. Felt like a good value overall.

Quick pump delivery

I ordered a new pompe de brassage because my old one died. The website was easy enough to navigate and I found what I needed pretty fast. Placed the order, and it shipped out the next day. Took about 4 days to reach Austin, which is what they estimated. The pump itself was exactly as described and works perfectly. I had a quick question about installation and their customer service email got back to me within a few hours. The only small thing was the box was a bit squashed on one corner, but the pump inside was fine. Good experience overall, especially for a critical piece of equipment.

Thinking of ordering some fish. How long does it usually take for them to arrive after ordering?

H Hannah Wright 2 weeks ago
For live stuff, it's usually pretty quick, like a few days max. They pack it well, too.

K Katie Lewis 2 weeks ago
My last order of fish got here in about 3 days. They send tracking so you can keep an eye on it.

Wondering about their loyalty program. Do you get points for every purchase, and can you use them with other discount codes?

J James Thompson 3 weeks ago
You do get points, but from what I remember, you can't combine them with other coupon codes. It's usually one or the other per order.
4
J Jennifer 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they have a loyalty thing. You earn points that turn into discounts. But nope, you gotta choose between using those points or a promo code; they don't stack.

Are the corals from Aquarium Corail aquacultured or wild caught?

J John 1 month ago
Most of their frags are aquacultured, which is good. They usually specify if it's wild.
2
J James Campbell 1 month ago
I think a lot of their smaller corals are aquacultured, but it's worth checking the product description for each one to be sure.

Hey, anyone know if Coral Aquarium ships to the US? Really want to snag some of their SPS but not sure if that's an option.

J Jennifer 6 days ago
Nah, I don't think so. Pretty sure they only do France and maybe Belgium for live stuff.
3
A Andrew Garcia 6 days ago
Yeah, I checked their site for delivery options a while back and didn't see anything for the US. Too bad, their selection is great.

Does Aquarium Corail ship to the US? I'm in California and their selection looks amazing.

J Joseph B. 1 month ago
Nah, pretty sure they only ship within France and maybe Belgium. International live animal shipping is super complicated with customs and permits. You'd probably have to find a local supplier or a US-based one.
6
P Patricia 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they're a French store. I don't think they do international shipping, especially for live stock. Customs would be a nightmare. You're better off looking at US retailers like LiveAquaria or similar.

How are their prices compared to, say, Marine Home or RecifAtHome? Just trying to find the best deal on some new SPS.

H Hannah Campbell 1 month ago
Coral Aquarium is usually pretty competitive, especially during sales. Marine Home sometimes has slightly cheaper equipment, but for corals, Aquarium Corail's selection and quality often beat them out. RecifAtHome is also good, but I've found more unique pieces here.

J Jason D. 1 month ago
It really depends on what you're looking for. For SPS, I often check Aquarium Corail first for unique colors. Marine Home can be cheaper for bulk dry goods. RecifAtHome is also good, but their stock rotates faster sometimes. Best to compare specific items.

Hey, I'm thinking about ordering some live corals for my tank, but I'm worried about shipping. How do they actually ship the live stuff? Like, what happens if it arrives dead?

A Alex White 6 days ago
They pack it pretty well, insulated and everything. I got a few frags last winter, and they arrived totally fine. I think they have a policy for DOAs, you just gotta follow their instructions pretty quickly after delivery.
0
E Elizabeth Smith 5 days ago
Yeah, I heard they use special packaging to keep the temp stable. If something's DOA, you usually need to send a pic right away, like within an hour or two of receiving the package. Check their site for the exact steps, but I've seen good reviews about them handling it.

Anyone know if their corals are wild-caught or tank-raised? Trying to be responsible with my purchases.

B Brian 3 weeks ago
I think a lot of their frags are aquaculture, or at least propagated from colonies. They do sell some wild stuff too, but I'm pretty sure they try to source sustainably. You could probably ask their customer service about specific pieces.
5
D Danielle 2 weeks ago
Most of the boutures (frags) are captive grown, which is awesome. For the larger colonies, it can be a mix, but they're generally good about saying where things come from if you look at the product descriptions.
